For a long time I`d been totally unkissed by Facebook games. In fact, I hated them. But then, by a chance, I discovered Cafe World. What made me to change my mind and start to play this Facebook game Cafe World?

The  simple attack on my build senses which I`ve been using many years ago, back in the time when Transport Tycoon was a king. I used to spend many hours in front of my computer building up my train and aircraft empire. For a while I tought those senses are hidden inside of me and waiting for another catchy game. Well, Cafe World on Facebook has woken them up.

Let`s start with what Zynga, the owner, says about their game:

Choose from dozens of dishes to cook, then slice, chop, saute and bake your way to the top of the culinary world!

What? That`s it? In Cafe World you just make dozens of dishes? Well, that doesn`t sound like a fun. Says anyone who hasn`t tried how fun and addictive (unfortunately) Cafe World is.

So, the idea is that you are a chef in your restaurant. You start with 3 stoves, 3 counters and 1 waiter. And you can choose what you want to cook – bacon cheeseburger, onion soup, fruit salad, cheesecake, … By cooking you are gaining cook points, which are responsible for achieving a certain levels of your cafe. Everytime you hit a particular amount of cook points, you get a level up and other stuff is unlocked for you – more stoves, more counters, more employees, more food, another decoration/equipment, …

Cafe World, addictive Facebook game

It`s almost ridiculous, but in the simplicity really is the power. The more you cook, the more customers are coming, the more money you have, the better decoration/equipment you can buy and that is really rewarding. It`s a great feeling when your business is rolling and your cafe is growing.

After a couple of minutes everything is clear and you start making your first dishes. Then you hire your friend from Facebook. Then you buy more tables. Then there is another level up and you can cook more things. So you cook, more people are coming in, another level up, then you reorganize your cafe in order fit there more customers.

Hours are passing by and although you haven`t eaten, you don`t feel like you should eat or drink something. The virtual business of Cafe World is more important, right?

It seems like the higher level you have, the more addictive it becomes. Cafe World is a social game, which can be seen at achieving higher levels, where you also need to have some friends added and also you need to visit their cafes  (that`s the way why Cafe World goes so viral and has more than 25 milions of users).

Cafe World is a brilliant tool for you to get an idea how running a cafe looks like. I know, it`s not a simulator of a real situation, but it can give you a rough idea. I mean – who wouldn`t want to have their own cafe/restaurant, right? By playing Cafe World you are in the position where you wanted to be. It`s you who is responsible for hiring people, making the decisions about equipment to the kitchen, decorating and organizing the whole cafe.

It`s fun, no doubt. But don`t forget there is the real world, where you actually live.
